Charitable Minded Philly Car Guy Gary Barbera and PA State Rep. Jared Solomon are Teaming Up to Give Back To TSA Workers After Government Shutdown
Barbera and Solomon are giving back to TSA workers for keeping people safe during the government shutdown.
The longest government shutdown in U.S. history has left over 800,000 TSA workers without their paychecks this month and many are living paycheck to paycheck. To say thanks for the hard work and dedication during the shutdown, Gary Barbera and PA State Rep. Jared Solomon are making sure that the TSA workers at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport are well fed and taken care of.
Although many TSA workers were without pay for three weeks, many of them continued to go to work. Barbera and Solomon, who are both staples in the community of Northeast Philadelphia are taking time today to say thank you for keeping people safe during the shutdown.
“Going into work without getting paid is extremely difficult,” Barbera said “The TSA employees at the Northeast Philly Airport know how important their jobs are to the safety of this community. That’s why we are giving back today and making sure they know how grateful we are for their dedication to this community.”
Barbera, who was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and whose business is right on Roosevelt Boulevard, saw the opportunity as a great way to thank the TSA workers in his community and is a perfect fit with his “Barbera Cares” program.
His program is focused on the local community and and the wants and needs of the people who live in it. According to Barbera, he “found a quote from Teddy Roosevelt that sums it all up.” The quote is, “Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
