Gary Barbera, in Partnership with PA State Rep Jared Solomon, Donate Coats to the School District of Philadelphia
In an effort to help kids during the colder months, Gary Barbera has partnered with Pennsylvania State Representative Jared Solomon to support local schools by donating hundreds of coats to the students of the School District of Philadelphia. District students at different grade levels in Philadelphia received coats to keep them warm on their way to and from school this winter.
Warmth shouldn’t be a luxury, it should be a staple for children across the country. There is a great need for warm coats in Philadelphia and it’s imperative for children to be warm and ready to learn when they go to school.
Barbera, who was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and whose business is right on Roosevelt Boulevard, immediately saw the opportunity to donate coats as a great way to help the children in his community and is a perfect fit with his “Barbera Cares” program.
His program is focused on the local community and local personal wants and needs. According to Barbera, he “found a quote from Teddy Roosevelt that sums it all up.” The quote is, “Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
There has been several locations that the team has made coat drops too including William H. Ziegler Elementary, Strawberry Mansion, other Philadelphia School District schools and the Roxborough YMCA.
