Gary Barbera Recognized for Community Contributions
As the owner of Barbera’s Autoland and the world famous Barbera’s on the Boulevard, Gary Barbera has been a cornerstone in Philadelphia and its surrounding communities for more than three decades. Over that time period Mr. Barbera and his organization, Gary Barbera Cares, have been at the forefront of contributions to the community and its families.
Mr. Barbera strives to develop relationships with charities and other organizations in Philadelphia, and he knows the importance of giving back. His commitment to the community is based on the principle that companies should do everything they can to help and serve their customers, and that corporate responsibility extends far beyond selling quality merchandise.
Over the years, Gary Barbera has worked tirelessly to help children and families, and has partnered with and supported such organizations as the Autism Society of America, Northern Home for Children, St. Vincent’s Home for Children, and St. Mary’s Villa. He has also served on the board of the West Philadelphia High School Automotive Program. Through his annual Archbishop Ryan Golf Outing, Mr. Barbera helps raise money to fund scholarships for needy youth.
For his work in the community, and his continued commitment to service in Philadelphia and surrounding neighborhoods, Gary Barbera was recognized by the Susquehanna Community Festival Board of Directors as a Corporate and Community Champion. He was also named PhillySport Magazine’s Dealer of the Year in 2007, and received recognition by the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for work in the community and integrity in business.
